What is the Northern Medical Society?

The Northern Medical Society (NMS) was formed in September 1999 and incorporated in early 2000 to promote the interests of physicians in Northern British Columbia. Its mission statement is "To safeguard and to enhance medical care in the North by defending the health and welfare of northern physicians”. Membership includes all types of physicians both urban and rural, specialist and generalist. All currently practicing physicians in Prince George and many in the rural district are members of the NMS and new physicians are encouraged to join also.
