What is the
Northern Medical Society?
The Northern Medical Society (NMS) was formed in September 1999 and
incorporated in early 2000 to promote the interests of physicians in Northern
British Columbia. Its mission statement is "To safeguard and
to enhance medical care in the North by defending the health and welfare of
northern physicians”. Membership includes all types of physicians both urban
and rural, specialist and generalist. All currently practicing physicians in Prince
George and many in the rural district are members of
the NMS and new physicians are encouraged to join also.
